Founded in Milwaukee in 1998, Daily Direct, LLC, provides nationwide transport for motorcycles, ATVs, and jet skis. A trusted client of Honda, Buell, and Harley-Davidson, Daily Direct, LLC, is also the official shipment company for the Mecum Motorcycle Auction.
Mecum hosts a series of vintage motorcycle auctions each year throughout the United States. In 2017 alone, 1,600 vintage motorcycles were auctioned off during two separate events in Las Vegas, while auctions have previously been held in Dallas, Chicago, and Houston, among other cities. The next scheduled auction is Las Vegas Motorcycle 2018 from Jan 23 to 27, during which time 1,750 motorcycles will be on display.
The first edition of what is now the Mecum Motorcycle Auctions took place in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1986. The event was hosted by Ron Christenson, who named the auction group MidAmerica Motorcycles. In 1991, the event moved to Las Vegas. Vintage motorcycles featured at past auctions include the 1938 Indian Model 438 four-cylinder, the 1912 Henderson Four, and the 1929 BMW R52.
